The Marshall County Sheriff's Office was forced to take control of nearly one-hundred head of cattle just off highway 99C south of Madill.

Investigators say a man from Texas owns the lands and the animals, but never feeds them.

Deputy Weldon Stubblefield says he's been following complaints against the owner for nearly five years.

He says this isn't the man's first run in with the law, he's on probation in Denton county, Texas for starving his animals there.

Stubblefield says in Texas it's a misdemeanor, but across the Red River the man faces serious felony charges.

The sheriff's office today dropped off two barrels of hay and other feed items when they re-possessed the cattle.

Stubblefield says he would like to see the man, who's name is not being released, charged with a felony count for each animal abused.
