The Tri-County Humane Society has put up a $1,000 reward for the safe return of a puppy that was stolen on Feb 18.

Jessica, a 5-month-old bull terrier-boxer mix, was playing with other dogs in a playpen outside the humane society west of Boca Raton at 21287 Boca Rio Road when someone took her shortly after 4 p.m. said Jeannette Christos, Tri-County's founder and chief executive.

Christos fears that Jessica, who has a kind temperament, may have been taken by people who run dog-fighting rings.

Anyone with information is asked to call Tri-County at 561-482-8110
