Hiram Ward, 62, a farmer has been accused of animal cruelty for letting 90 cows and sheep starve to death. He has been ordered to bury the carcasses or face additional charges.
State police went to Ward's farm with a veterinarian after receiving an anonymous tip.
After arriving at the farm, they found a pile of dead animals in a field and another pile in a barn. there were individual animals found elsewhere around the farm.
He is facing misdemeanor animal cruelty charges and was given three days to properly bury the livestock.
Approximately 40 surviving cows and sheep were found on the farm. A veterinarian is caring for the surviving cows and sheep until the outcome of Ward's legal case.
