Wolf dogs living in waist-deep feces Jefferson, OR (US)Incident Date: Thursday, Apr 25, 1996 County: Marion
Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: Jayson Marcus Wollander
Jayson Wollander, 50, who lives on a Sunnyside Road wooded property has been cited for 41 counts of animal neglect after finding wolf-type dogs living in waist-deep feces and sharing homes with rats.
There were at least 40 dogs living in pens on the property that was filled with garbage, junk, mud and feces. Wollander lives in a travel trailer with his mother.
The court is to decide who has jurisdiction over the dogs. If the animals are given to the Humane Society, one option would be to euthanize.
Susan Mentley, animal welfare director for the Humane Society of the Willamette Valley said, "They are not acceptable pets, never have been properly socialized. We don't quite know what they are."
Mentley said she had been doing this for 15 years and this is the worst I've seen. References« OR State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Marion County, OR
