On Feb 5, Carey Vogt, 48, was found dead in his home. He had been dead for more than one week.

Bexar county Humane Society volunteers captured up to 80 cats in two days at a Wilson County house where the cat's owner died three weeks ago.

Vogt died of heart problems.

There were more than 200 cat at Vogt's home. Some were dead and others had survived by eating Vogt, the sheriff said.

Vogt's brother who lives out of state was notified about the death and the cats. He didn't call the humane society until Thursday night to advise the staff about the problem. It is not known why he waited so long to call the humane society.

When the volunteers arrived at Vogt's home Friday morning, approximately 100 of the cats were found dead.

Donations are being accepted to help cover the surviving cats' medical costs.
