Bill Markowitz, of Keyport, was convicted of animal cruelty in Atlantic City Municipal Court after he let his two keeshonds dogs suffocate in a hot car last August.
Markowitz was sentence to 60 days in jail and a $2,000 fine. Markowitz will appeal the sentence.
Bill Markowitz parked his car on an Atlantic City street on Aug 3 leaving his two keeshonds locked inside. The temperature was about 90 degrees causing the dogs to die from the heat.
