Dog rescued from vehicle in 80 degree temperatures Marco Island, FL (US)Incident Date: Tuesday, Apr 10, 2001 County: Collier
Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: Robert Keane
Robert Keane, 39, of Rockford, IL, was arrested by a park ranger supervisor at Tigertail Beach. Keane who is a physician had left a dog inside his sports utility vehicle on a sunny, 80 degree day on Marco Island.
The report stated around 3 p.m. a ranger spotted the dog inside the vehicle and made a note of it. Fifty minutes later, the dog was still in the car.
The windows were cracked 3 or 4 inches, but the dog was panting and saliva was coming from its mouth. The dog looked like it was in distress.
A police officer used a slim jim to reach through the window to hit the power button to free the dog from the hot vehicle. The dog was a medium-sized tan animal, it drank lots of water and then was turned over to Domestic Animal Services. References- Naples FL Daily News - Apr 12, 2001
