A national organization is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for poisoning two dogs in Sudbury. The Humane Society of the United States announced that it would be putting up the reward. According to police, the dog's owner let the two dogs, a collie and a corgi, out on their property on the morning of Jan. 11, 2006, and when the dogs returned they were severely vomiting.

The dogs were rushed to the Rutland Veterinary Clinic where they were diagnosed with antifreeze poisoning. Both dogs were euthanized the following day as a result of their injuries.
Evidence collected by police lead authorities to believe that the dogs may have been intentionally poisoned.

Anyone with information is asked to call Vermont State Police Sgt. Jim Hogan at 773-9101.
