Three people were charged with multiple counts of animal cruelty - one defendant indicted on 53 counts alone - as they were charged with failing to provide food, water and shelter for their animals, as well as leaving numerous animals outside in 100-degree summer days without access to shade or refreshment.

The defendants will be in court to receive their indictments. Their plea date has been set for Feb. 13.
