A 22-year-old Stahlstown man is facing a number of charges for allegedly cutting the throat of another man's pet goat and then disposing of the carcass near his own home.
State police at Greensburg said Christopher Byron Weaver drove onto 45-year-old Philip Cotchen's property on Kregar Road, in Cook Township, on Jan. 13 and, at 2:30 a.m., jumped the fence that encircled the pen of an Angora goat owned by Cotchen. Weaver allegedly grabbed the goat and slit its throat with a knife, killing it.
Police said Weaver then put the goat in the trunk of his car and left. He allegedly dumped the animal in a wooded area near his home.
