Dog poisoned by 14 year old murderer

A 14-year-old mentally troubled boy murdered and sexually mutilated a 79-year-old relative in 2004 will be free to walk the streets within six years. "He said that he had decided to kill his family, and that he was starting with the oldest," Crown attorney Brent Davidson said yesterday before the teen, who turns 16 today, was sentenced for first-degree murder.

The 79-year-old woman was found dead inside her home four days after she was last seen by her family. She had been smothered with a pillow, and her nude body had been spray-painted and stuffed inside a closet. She had been sexually mutilated with a knife following death.

Her body was found when her daughter came looking for her and found the boy hiding behind a bed. The mother's beloved little dog had been poisoned.
