Police in Victoria, Texas, say a break-in at an animal shelter on December 26, 2005, led to the deaths of a dog and more than a dozen cats. Investigators believe the animals attacked each other after someone freed them from their cages at the Humane Society shelter.
Fourteen cats were found dead the following morning. Two dogs were injured, and one of them later died. Police say they don't know who opened the cages or why. Neighborhood MapFor more information about the Interactive Animal Cruelty Maps, see the map notes.
