Palm Springs Animal Control reports that between December 5 and December 19, 2005, several cats have been discovered dead from allegedly poisoning. The cats have been found around the 700 block of E. Vista Chino in Palm Springs.

On December 12, 2005, Animal Control received a telephone call from a woman stating that her cat had been poisoned along with her neighbors cat and several strays in her neighborhood. Further investigation revealed at least 5 cats had died from an unknown toxin from the area of this condo.

Further investigation revealed a total of 15 - 20 cats had died within a few blocks of the same complex, with people reporting the deaths as strange. Everyone reported seeing the cats healthy the night before and dead the next day.

Three cats died at a local veterinarians office within hours of coming in. Animal Control is still awaiting the lab results from the test to determine the cause of the deaths.
