Police have charged the owner of a pet store with cruelty to animals. Mechanicsburg police say the owner of a Petland in the Silver Spring Commons, Port Dare, killed a sick kitten. Police say he put the kitten in a plastic bag, put it in a freezer, then later, slammed it against a dumpster behind the building. A preliminary hearing is set for April 11th.

The Cumberland County Court in Pennsylvania recently sentenced Port Dare to no less than 15 days and up to 23 months in jail for animal cruelty. Mr. Dare must also pay a $1,000 fine and undergo psychological evaluation in conjunction with anger management therapy.
