Hoarding 293 dogs
Midvale, ID (US)

Incident Date: Tuesday, Apr 30, 1996
County: Washington

Disposition: Dismissed

Persons of Interest:
» Robert Harold Erickson
» Barbara Erickson

In 1996, Erickson was charged with one count of permitting animals to go without care in Idaho's Washington County after deputies discovered almost 300 dogs living in squalid conditions at her Midvale home, Washington County Sheriff Marv Williams said.

The charge was eventually dropped after Erickson agreed not to breed any dogs in Idaho, allowed the Idaho Humane Society to take 293 dogs off her property and agreed to neuter or spay any dogs she had that were pets and have a veterinarian make visits to ensure the health of the dogs, Williams said.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
