The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office made an arrest of a man charged with animal cruelty, after animal control picked up an extremely thin dog. St. Charles Animal Control recently picked up an English Mastiff Dog that was running at large, according to Capt. Pat Yoes, public information officer with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office. The dog was taken to a veterinarian and was reported to have been underweight. Blood was in the dog's stool and it was infested with hookworms.
Brandon Breaux, 31 of Des Allemands showed up at the animal shelter, identifying himself as the owner of the dog, according to Yoes. Breaux was then arrested, because of the dog's poor medical condition. He was taken to the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center where he was placed on a $5,000 bond set by Judge Emile St. Pierre.
Breaux posted bail, and his return court date is set for Dec. 15, according to information provided by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office
