Its a case of animal neglect and its going to court. Hungry, weak and losing their fur, that's just some of the things investigators found after someone called animal services on Cindy Jensen of Northeast Alachua County in the beginning of November. Investigators say her cat had pulled out most of its fur and had scabs covering its skin. They say her three dogs needed food and attention from their owner.

Director of Alachua County Animal Services, Ray Sim says, "One animal had a wound that was open, needed to be sutured and closed and cleaned, there was quite a bit of hair matting."

Jensen wasn't home for comment. The cat and two of the dogs have been at Alachua County Animal Services for several weeks. The third dog is recuperating at an employee's house. A court date is set for Friday in the case. Employees at Animal Services hope to get custody of the animals so they can put them up for adoption.
