more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Dog tied up and left to starve Ironton, OH (US)Incident Date: Thursday, Sep 30, 1999 County: Lawrence
Disposition: Convicted
Defendant/Suspect: Tim Leftridge
A Rottweiler mix (formerly known as Rottie) was chained up near another dog. The owner was intent on starving these two dogs. When asked why he let the dogs starve he said he did not have the money to feed them. He acted like it was no big deal that Yoyo was starving and the other one was dead. When yoyo was rescued the other dog was laying dead beside her. Yoyo was so desperate when rescued she tried to reach a pile of glass to eat it. The owner has been charged with two counts of animal cruelty, but so far has evaded arrest.
Yoyo spent about a week at the vets and was on antibiotics for ten days. She only weighed 31 lbs. She should have been between 50-65 lbs or more. Her owner, Tim Leftridge, was cited into court but failed to show up. A warrant was issued for his arrest but he couldn't be found. He was charged with two counts of animal abuse. One for Yoyo and one for the dog that died. When he was eventually found, he pled guilty.
Judge Donald Capper sentenced Tim Leftridge to ten days in jail, suspended for ten days of community service. The judge fined Mr. Leftridge $100, plus $60 court costs, and he must pay all of Yoyo's vet bills or go to jail. Mr. Leftridge also received 12 months probation.
