Each dealer shall establish and maintain programs of adequate veterinary care that includes daily observations of all animals to assess their health and well-being. The following dogs need veterinary care:

1) Enclosure # 803, Maltese female tag # 979 has black discharge in both ears. The right cornea is also cloudy. This dog's condition was not previously noted by owner.

2) Enclosure # 704 housing a West highland terrier and enclosure # 711 housing a Yorkshire terrier are both matted and in need of grooming especially around the eyes. According to Animal Care policy # 3, health records need to be kept on animals receiving treatments.

Hard surfaces dogs come in contact with must be spot-cleaned daily. All other surfaces of housing facilities must be cleaned and sanitized when necessary to satisfy the generally accepted husbandry standards and practices. Dust and cobwebs are accumulating on tops of wire enclosure in adult holding building. Tops of enclosures need to be cleaned more often.

Primary enclosures must be maintained to enable all surfaces in contact with the dogs to be readily cleaned and sanitized, or be replaceable when worn or soiled. The whelping enclosures have bare wood present where dogs have scratched off the gray paint. In addition the first row of whelping enclosures have wooden strips along the bottom of the partitions which are not painted or sealed. The whelping enclosures need to be sealed or repainted. Enclosures numbered 305, 307, 322, 323, 328, and 330 housing a total of 11 dogs have chewed wooden supports in rear left corner which need to be replaced.
