Friedensburg, PA (US)

Incident Date: Friday, Jan 31, 1997
County: Schuylkill

Disposition: USDA Citation

Person of Interest: Michael L Kredovski

In February 1997, the U.S. Department of Agriculture charged licensed animal dealer Michael Kredovski, doing business as Bio-Medical Associates in Friedensburg, Pa., with violations of the Animal Welfare Act.

APHIS inspectors found that Kredovski failed to:

-- Provide for the regular and frequent collection, removal, and disposal of animal and food wastes, bedding, debris, garbage, water, other fluids, and dead animals, in a manner that minimizes contamination and disease risks;

-- Construct and maintain the floors of primary enclosures for dogs so that the floors protect the animals' feet and legs from injury;

-- Establish an effective program for the control of pests so as to promote the health and well-being of the animals and reduce contamination by pests in animal areas;

-- Maintain complete and accurate records showing the acquisition, disposition, and identification of cats;

-- Provide certification containing a description of dogs, including the species and breed or type, when making available random source dogs;

-- Separate non-compatible dogs;

-- Maintain complete records showing the acquisition of dogs; and

-- Construct the floors and walls of indoor housing facilities and other surfaces that come in contact with animals of materials impervious to moisture.
