On Sept. 27, 1996, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Robert and Lynette Grady, animal dealers doing business as Cripple Creek Kennels in Fort Dodge, Iowa, have agreed to a consent decision and order regarding violations of the Animal Welfare Act.

The Gradys neither admitted nor denied any violations of the AWA but agreed to a civil penalty of $10,000 and permanent license disqualification.

APHIS inspectors found that the Gradys were operating without a license.
