Police have charged a man in relation to the death of a family cat at Wallsend. The family noticed their two-year-old Burmese missing from their home on Thursday 3 November and letter dropped the neighbourhood.
Several days later they discovered its body in nearby bushland. It will be alleged it died after being shot with a bow and arrow.
Investigators from Waratah Local Area Command yesterday a 37-year-old man at a house in Wallsend. They also alleged seized a compound bow, several arrows and a knife.
The man has been charged with aggravated cruelty to an animal and has been conditionally bailed to appear at Toronto Local Court on Wednesday 7 December.
