A man from Santillana del Mar, Cantabria (Spain) has been sentenced to 11-months in jail for threatening his wife and kids, killing one family dog and beating the other. 47-year.old Jes�s Mar�a L.H. got home drunk and threatened to death his wife and sons (18, 16 and 7-year-old) and commented on his intentions to burn the house. He threw some dishes at the family members without hitting them and took a nap. After getting up from the nap, he hanged the female family dog that could not be saved. He then turned to the other dog, a rottweiler, beat him severely and hanged him. Fortunately, one of the sons could save the rottie which is safe now.back in 1991, the wife had already dennounced him for an aggression and the judge considered it a misdemeanor.
The abuser will have to face now 11-month prison sentence, the prohibition to own weapons and a prohibition to get near his wife and kids.

El titular del Juzgado de lo Penal n�mero uno de Santander ha condenado a un total de once meses de prisi�n, por delitos de maltrato familiar y maltrato de animales, a un hombre de 47 a�os de edad, que amenaz� con matar a su compa�era sentimental y a sus tres hijos, uno de ellos, de siete a�os de edad, y que mat� a una perra de la familia con una horca y despu�s apale� a otro perro de su propiedad al que intent� ahorcar.

La sentencia, hecha p�blica hoy,
considera probado que el acusado, Jes�s Mar�a L.H., natural de Hoz de Anero, lleg� en estado de embriaguez sobre las tres de la tarde del pasado 4 de junio a su casa, situada en el barrio La Fuente, de Queveda, en Santillana del Mar, insultando, tanto a su compa�era sentimental, con la que convive hace veinte a�os, como a sus hijos de 18, 16 y 7 a�os.

El procesado amenaz� a los cuatro miembros de su familia con que les iba a matar e iba a quemar la casa, y, seguidamente, les lanz� varios platos sin alcanzarles, cayendo �stos al suelo.

Tras esto, se acost� a dormir la siesta y al levantarse, cogi� una horca y mat� a una perra peque�a propiedad de la familia. A continuaci�n, cogi� un palo, y golpe� repetidamente a un perro de raza rotwailer y despu�s, le pas� una cuerda por el cuello y lo colg� de un poste, si bien el animal no lleg� a morir ahorcado porque uno de los hijos del acusado logr� descolgarlo.

Seg�n recoge la sentencia, la compa�era sentimental del procesado hab�a presentado ya en el a�o 1991 una denuncia por agresi�n. Los hechos se declararon constitutivos de una falta y se archivaron por prescripci�n.

El pasado 6 de junio, se dict� una orden de protecci�n que solicit� la mujer y el hijo mayor del agresor y se acord� el alejamiento de �ste respecto a los denunciantes y los otros dos hijos menores.

La sentencia condena ahora a Jes�s Mar�a L.H., como autor de un delito de maltrato familiar, a la pena de ocho meses de prisi�n, con inhabilitaci�n para el sufragio pasivo durante el tiempo de la condena; a la prohibici�n de acercarse a la persona y el domicilio de su compa�era sentimental y sus tres hijos durante dos a�os, y tambi�n le proh�be que tenga armas y porte armas durante el mismo tiempo.

Igualmente la sentencia, que es firme, impone al acusado tres meses de prisi�n, con inhabilitaci�n para el sufragio pasivo durante el tiempo de la condena, por otro delito de maltrato de animales.
