County: CuyahogaDisposition: Alleged
Alleged: Mark Lambert
A local man is accused of killing and dismembering a cat on Cleveland's west side. Mark Lambert was charged on Nov 7 with cruelty to animals, a second-degree misdemeanor.
Animal protective league investigators said blood splatter was found on the wall of Lambert's home.
"The suspect had gotten a cat, a local stray, a friendly cat, and dipped the animal in white paint, hung it by a shoe string and dismembered it," said Jed Nignano with the Cleveland APL.
The incident allegedly happened several months ago, but witnesses just recently came forward to report the crime.
Nignano said boots found at Lambert's home tested positive for cat blood. He said investigators also found footprints in white paint in the basement.
Neighbors said they had been warned about Lambert.
"People down the street who lived there said he used to kill his cats, kill people's cats, so watch out for your cats," Sheron Foster said.
