On August 27 2005 deputies were sent to 1747 Sue Lane in Dayton Wisconsin to check a possible injured person. Upon their arrival, officers observed resident Anthony E. Lebeots, 33, with visible blood splattered over his body, stating that he had cut himself. After ascertaining that Mr Lebeots had no visible cuts or injuries, the officers proceeded to investigate the source of the blood.

The officers observed a vehicle parking in the yard, engine running, with three Husky mix type dogs inside. The windows of the car were rolled up, the car's heater was on, and an open container of gasoline was also in the car.

Upon further inspection of the property, officers discovered 5 puppies under a porch area, two Rubbermaid type containers flipped upside down with 5-6 puppies underneath, and a fenced kennel housing a somewhat aggressive-acting Husky mix adult dog.

The officers then observed a pool of blood on the ground in front of the entrance to a small metal shed. A rubber grip handle that appeared to have been from a hammer was laying near the blood, and it appeared to be splattered in blood. Officers observed blood on the shed's sliding entrance door and questioned Mr. Lebeots regarding the blood. Mr. Lebeots stated that he did not know. The deputy then looked inside the shed and observed a hammer, covered in blood, with a wooden handle laying on a chair. The deputy also observed a Husky type mix adult dog on it's back, covered in blood, with labored breathing and it's body convulsing approximately every 10-15 seconds. Mr. Lebeots stated that he had put the dog down because it was vicious and that it was too expensive to take the dog to a vet for humane euthanasia. A Humane Officer was then called to the property and due to the severe injuries of the dog, it was put down immediately on the premise.

Mr Lebeots was then placed in handcuffs and arrested.
