A disgusting discovery on Gibson Avenue: seven dogs abandoned; some of them so hungry that they chewed on dead dogs for nourishment.

The home on Gibson Avenue had seven dogs. One of the dogs was already dead. Some of the others had actually had to resort to eating the body to stay alive.

Neighbors say they've seen a Jeep in front of the house twice since then.

The folks living in the home were renters. Investigators say they're out of town.

The dogs were called in by a rent to own company who was coming to the house take back its TV.

When Arlene Davis, of the Humane Society arrived, she found out that the home had been without electricity for more than a month. It was turned off September 28th.

Three dogs left outside the home were founding eating on the remains of another dog, while those inside had plenty of food, but were clearly frightened.

Unfortunately investigators say this happens all the time. Davis told us, "Animals can't pick up the phone for help so I need everyone to call even if it doesn't end up being anything Id rather go and check it out."

Investigators say if the owner of the dogs is found guilty they could face more than twenty years in prison for seven counts of animal cruelty.

No arrests have been made.
