When Crystal Davis went to feed her 15 chickens and six ducks on Oct. 11, she found two of her ducks shot in the neck and another one injured outside her Orondo home.

One of the ducks was dead when she found it and a second died at a veterinarian's office. The third injured duck has been unable to walk or eat on its own since being injured.

Davis says the netting around her animal coop had been ripped apart. She did not hear the shooting. The vet who treated the birds says the wounds were too small to come from a rifle but could have been caused by a pellet gun.

Douglas County sheriff's Sgt. Harvey Gjesdal says he has been in contact with Davis about the shooting.
