A Donna dog owner was charged with animal cruelty on the morning of October 27, 2005 after allegedly tying his three dogs to a tree and starving them. Local media first discovered the three pit bulls severely malnourished at a Donna home.

Their owner, Gregorio Escobar, Jr., turned himself into local police. He was charged with three counts of animal cruelty.

The dogs must now be put to sleep.
