A 59-year-old Bartlett man was arrested and charged with animal cruelty after police say he shot his neighbors cat with a pellet gun.
The Bartlett Police Department's humane investigator found Franz Huetter, of 1008 Martingale Drive, in possession of an air rifle capable of shooting pellets. Huetter was arrested on Oct 26, 2005.
"He had a problem with the cat being in his yard," said police Sgt. Charles Snider.
The cat, a 10-month-old short-haired variety, took a pellet to the lung and awaits surgery at Sutton Road Animal Hospital to have it removed, Snider said. It is expected to make a full recovery, he said.
Huetter was released on bond and has a court date of Nov. 22 at the DuPage County courthouse in Wheaton. Neighborhood MapFor more information about the Interactive Animal Cruelty Maps, see the map notes.
