Two cats doused with paint thinner
Seattle, WA (US)

Incident Date: Tuesday, Oct 25, 2005
County: King

Disposition: Open

Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

Two cats in a North Seattle neighborhood have been doused with paint thinner. Both cats were targeted near Lake City and northeast 130th Street.

Dr. Carina Nacewicz treated both animals. She said paint thinner can be toxic to pets.

"It can cause a chemical burn as far as inhaling to lung tissue and surface of the eye," said Nacewicz.

One cat was treated and released. The second cat still needs care.

So far, police have no suspects and veterinarians fear more cats may have been targeted but those cases haven't been reported.
