A car was stolen and a dog shot during a robbery on Oct 25 at a West Toledo home, police said. Jamie Hall was in her home, 3660 Sherbrooke Rd., about 1 p.m. when two black men knocked on her front door.

When she cracked it open, a man with a gun, who was wearing a blue, hooded sweatshirt, forced his way inside. The second man, wearing a gray sweatsuit and a hat, demanded the keys to a 1994 Ford Mustang, police said.

During the robbery, Ms. Halls boxer dog came downstairs and one of the men shot it through the neck. The men fled in the car, which was found a short time later on Gasser Street.

The dog is being treated by a veterinarian.
