Mark Norgren and his cat, Bubba, are both feeling better after being reunited a week after Bubba was shot about 12 times with a pellet gun. The cat was shot sometime Oct. 9 after Norgren let the cat out of his motor home on Riverside Drive.
Realizing his cat was injured, it wasn't until Norgren took Bubba to a veterinarian that he learned it had been shot. Bubba underwent surgery at an animal hospital in Corvallis. Three pellets were removed and the rest were left in place.
The hospital bill for Bubba was more than $2,000. Norgren was able to pay half and finance the rest.
This past week was only the third one-week period the two had been separated since he found the cat three years ago.
Norgren adopted Bubba after finding him abandoned at a campground in Washington.
Seeing a black-and-white cat come out of a green forest - "it's not something you see everyday," Norgren remembered.
He took in Bubba to catch mice, but instead the two be inseparable companions, living and traveling in Norgren's motor home.
"He turned out to be such a personable cat," Norgren said.
For the next eight weeks, Bubba is supposed to have limited movement so Norgren is making modification inside his motor home to keep the cat from jumping around.
