A man is in jail after being accused of stabbing his family dog to death. Derrick Flores had been drinking all day at his home on Cicero Street on the northeast side on Oct 23 and became angry after a neighbor used his phone, San Antonio Police said.
Flores said he wanted to stab someone and then attacked his 9-month-old pitbull with a pocket knife, officers said. The dog was stabbed twice in its side.
The 42-year-old Flores was jailed on $7,500 bond. He faces terrorist threat charges, along with animal cruelty charges.
