A litter of starving and flea-bitten puppies were found sealed in a box and left for dead in Leesburg, Fla.
Bob Biswick and his dog, Honey, were on their daily walk when Honey led the man to a large cardboard box near a clothing drop bin. When Biswick opened it, he found two females and two male mix-Labrador puppies covered in fleas and apparently starving. Biswick called the authorities and Animal Control officers treated the puppies.
"Our dispatchers went and bought food to feed them and bathe them because they were completely covered in fleas," Leesburg Animal Control officer Paula Page said. "Depriving an animal of food and water, especially a baby, for any length of time is very cruel."
