Lufkin, TX (US)

Incident Date: Friday, Oct 14, 2005
County: Angelina

Disposition: Alleged

Abuser names unreleased

A man killed his family's pet rabbit early Oct 14 during a fight with his wife at their North Lufkin home, police said.

The man, whose name was not immediately available, allegedly killed the animal because his wife wouldn't let him into their apartment when he came home at 3 a.m., Lufkin Police Lt. Greg Denman.

Once she let him in, the husband allegedly choked and slapped her, the report stated.

An investigation is ongoing. The man could be facing charges for domestic assault and animal cruelty, Denman said.
