The Ohio Society for the Protection of Animals is looking for the person who abused an adult cat. According to Barbara McGrady of SPA, her office got a phone call about a cat on the front porch of a Fremont womans home. The animal was extremely dehydrated and malnourished, and having trouble breathing.

Taken to the vet, Cerro was given IV fluids immediately. After X-Rays, it was found the animal had several broken ribs, as if he had been kicked severely.

The SPA says Cerro will need some special attention for some time. He is about fourteen-years old, and must have been someones pet at one time as he is declawed. Cerro is up for adoption, but for awhile will need to be kept in a cage with food, water, and a litter box until his ribs completely heal.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Cerro while he recovers, fill out an online application (write in Cerro on the line that asks for the pets name) or email Barbara or SPA Fremont with any questions.

Donations are also being taken to help with Cerros veterinary bills from the Fremont Animal Hospital. Donations can be made to: SPA, Cerro Fund, PO Box 1047, Fremont, OH, 43420.
