Charlotte animal control officers seized six pit bulls on Oct 4 that they said were used for fighting. The officers were in the Reid Park neighborhood checking for license tags and rabies vaccinations when they noticed several dogs at 3607 Reid Avenue.
None of the dogs had been licensed or inoculated and all had wounds consistent with dog fighting.
Animal Control also seized a gamecock.
The case is still under investigation and charges against the owner are pending.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
