On June 2, 2005, SPCA Senior Investigating Agent Michael Armatys and Amy Monkelbaan, of the SPCA's Animal Rescue Team, removed 10 rabbits and three dogs from 617 Petan Dr.; an additional 12 rabbits were taken from the house early this afternoon by Armatys and Rescuer Lindsey Styborski.

On the evening of June 2, 2005,after receiving complaints from neighbors about a foul odor emanating from the house. They suspected animals were on the property as well. People and pets were residing in the feces-filled home, overflowing with garbage.

The animals are owned by an elderly woman and her daughter, Jeanette S. Falczak, also of Petan Dr., who was charged with cruelty to animals by Armatys. Both were transported to Erie County Medical Center for mental and physical evaluation. Falczak's arraignment in Cheektowaga Town Court is scheduled for 8:30 am on June 20.


Case Updates

The dogs were released to relatives of Falczek and most of the rabbits have been adopted. Falczek was arrained and will report to trial starting July 20, 2005.
