County: ScottDisposition: Convicted
Defendant/Suspect: Scott Anthony Allen
Police confiscated 20 guns from the home of a man who shot his puppy for urinating on the floor. Scott Anthony Allen, 41, was arrested after neighbors reported hearing gunshots at about 6:30 p.m., police records said.
Allen admitted he shot the 6-month-old Elkhound several times in his back yard, police said. Allen told officers that the dog urinated in his home and chewed up paperwork. Allen was fined $50 for discharging a firearm and $50 for mistreatment of an animal. Police removed shotguns, handguns and an AK-47 from Allen's home, said Capt. David Struckman. He said the guns appear to have been owned legally, but they were taken for safety reasons. Struckman said he is not sure if the guns will be returned.
