Clinton Bart Schneider and Amber Wallace were arrested on an assortment of drug and bond violations Tuesday, the Concordia Parish Sheriffs Office announced Wednesday.

Schneider, 41, and Wallace, 22, were both out on bond while awaiting trial on charges of dog fighting.

Schneiders bonding officer, Sgt. Greg Jackson, went to his home, 4627 Louisiana 565, Monterey, to make a routine contact and discovered four dogs in the yard.

An August raid on Schneiders home found 43 fighting dogs, training materials and drugs. Wallace and Joshua White were arrested on the scene; Schneider fled and turned himself in three months later.

One of the conditions of his three concurrent $25,000 bonds, ordered by Seventh Judicial District Judge Kathy Johnson, was that he not be in possession of dogs.

Jackson obtained a search warrant and, along with Deputy Chris Groh, found crystal methamphetamine in the home as well as written material relating to dog fighting, the release said.

More crystal methamphetamine and ecstasy pills were also found on Schneiders person.

He was charged with possession of Schedule I and II CDS with intent to distribute, carrying a weapon while in possession of CDS and violation of bonding conditions.

Judge Leo Boothe revoked Schneiders bonds and Johnson then set a new bond of $200,000.

Wallace, who shares the address, was at the house at the time of arrest, and was charged identically save for the possession of Schedule I CDS.

She had been out on a $110,000 bond; her bond was set at $200,000.

CPSO spokesperson Kathy Stevens did not know what type of weapons the two were carrying.

According to the release, Schneider told Jackson he didnt agree with the dog possession clause of his bond conditions.

The four dogs were seized along with other evidence.

Sheriff Randy Maxwell said his department is very concerned about dog fighting.

Were going to continue to actively monitor anyone we find fighting dogs, he said. Its pretty simple. If you fight dogs, you re going to jail.

Schneider, Wallace and White have March 15 court dates on dog fighting charges relating to the August raid. Wallace and White will appear together for a trial of motions and Schneider will have an arraignment hearing.

Alleged dog fighting trainer Clinton B. Schneider was arrested January 5, 2006 on a warrant for 43 counts of cruelty to animals.
Schneider, 41, 4637 Louisiana 565, Jonesville, had been out of jail on a promise to appear after being charged with possession of schedule III narcotics, possession of schedule IV narcotics, dog fight training and/or possession of fighting dogs after an August 2005 raid on a Monterey home.

Amber Wallace and Joshua White were arrested at the time, but Schneider fled the scene. He turned himself in to Concordia Parish Sheriffs deputies Nov. 17, 2005.

The new charges include 43 counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, the number of dogs found on the property and later euthanized. There is a provision in the cruelty to animals statute that prohibits dog fighting. Each felony count carries with it the possibility of a fine ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 and imprisonment between one and ten years.
Bond was set at $65,000 plus $15 to pay for a drug test.
Wallace and White, who each face drug and dog fighting charges identical to Schneiders, were not charged with cruelty. Each is out on bond.

A trial of motions for all three suspects is scheduled for Feb. 15, 2006.

The alleged head of a major dog fighting operation in Concordia Parish turned himself in to authorities Thursday, after more than two months of living in hiding.

Clenton Schneider, 40, of 4637 Louisiana 565, Jonesville, La., was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of schedule III narcotics, dog fight training and possession of fighting dogs.

As of press time, he had not posted the $25,000 bond.

In August, Concordia Parish Sheriffs deputies broke up a dog fighting operation in Monterey, La. They found training equipment and 43 fighting dogs.

Amber Wallace and Joshua White, both of Monterey, were arrested and booked with identical charges as Schneider, who escaped from the scene.

    The dogs were euthanized.

CPSO Sgt. Greg Jackson, the officer who made the initial arrests, said Schneider was most likely tired of the worry of living in hiding.
