A West Hartford woman has been charged with animal cruelty after one of her miniature horses was found wandering in traffic. Police say they found the horse wandering on Mountain Road after receiving a call about it on July 1.

When they went to return it to 76-year-old Eleanor Reiner, they say they found four neglected miniature horses and a goat on her property.

Police seized all the animals, which they say were unhealthy and showed signs of neglect. Reiner turned herself into police in early September and was released on $250 bond.

Police say they're caring for the animals and they are doing well.
