Troy police are considering charging a Sterling Heights woman with animal cruelty after the woman allegedly left her dog in her car in the parking lot of the Nino Salvaggio fruit store in Troy on Aug 28. Temperatures that day approached 90 degrees. The woman told police she didn't think it was too hot for the dog, and that she had left the car's windows open a few inches. Police said the dog seemed to be having trouble breathing, so they opened the car door and gave it water.
