Police were called about 1:30 p.m. on Aug 31 to check on complaints they received at 15 Chester St., according to the police activity log. Photos were requested at the scene.

A police photo taken there included a picture of a black adult cat sitting with what appeared to be three newborn kittens around it. It was unclear whether or not the cats were alive.

Police Chief Alfred Donovan said that he did not know anything about the incident and said police had no report on the incident. The MSPCA declined to discuss details of the incident or to confirm or deny whether the animals taken out were cats.
