The Thomas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a dog fighting ring. Investigators have arrested Dexter Young, Ricardo Mitchell, and Larry Hansell. Young is charged with aggravated animal cruelty. All three are charged with no proof of rabies vaccination.

Investigator Jason Shoudel says he's glad none of the 25 pit bulls involved died. "They're just doing what they're taught by their owners. They don't know the difference between right and wrong so it's up to us that are responsible to take action," he says.

Investigators began looking into the three men after the Humane Society received a tip about the dog fighting in late August. They were arrested on the night of Aug 29 and are out of jail on bond.
