A Brooklyn woman has been stabbed to death allegedly by her daughter's ex-boyfriend. Detectives are still looking for the alleged killer, identified by police as 35-year-old Pierre Carrenard.

Police say he fled the bloody crime scene on East 43rd street in East Flatbush on the afternoon of Aug 9 after attacking his former girlfriend's mother. 53-year-old Esperance Labidou was stabbed numerous times. Her 16-year-old niece was slashed in the face and hospitalized. The family dog was killed.

The police say there is a history of trouble involving the suspect. Family members have said that they called the police over and over again. Something happened on the afternoon of Aug 9 to trigger the violence.

A Brooklyn man who butchered his girlfriend's mother and her dog was yesterday sentenced to the maximum 25 years to life by an angry judge who harbored no mercy.

"If ever there were a person who deserves more than 25 to life, it's you," Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Robert Collini told convicted killer Pierre Carrenard.

Carrenard - who last August fatally stabbed Esperance Labidou and her dog Foo Foo in the basement of her Flatlands apartment - responded by muttering, "God bless you" to the furious judge. "He will bless me, but I guarantee you, he will not bless you," Collini fired back.

Carrenard's maniacal rampage was set off when Labidou's daughter, Francois MacDaly, rejected his bid to win her back through a voodoo spell. "This family will never be the same," said prosecutor Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi. "He took from them something that can never be replaced."

Carrenard, 36, stabbed Labidou more than 30 times and slashed his ex's cousin, Patricia Gaspard, before attacking the family's pet Pekinese. "Life now without my mother feels empty," MacDaly wrote in a letter that was read in court.

The dead woman's relatives cheered as Collini ripped into the killer, with one of them calling out "Loser!" when Carrenard was led off in handcuffs.

Outside the courthouse, relatives of the dead women clashed with supporters of the killer, as both sides screamed and cursed at each other.

The deranged former stockbroker actually faces up to 28 years to life, with the extra time tacked on for the slashing of Gaspard and the murder of Foo Foo.

After failing to woo back his ex-lover with a voodoo spell, a jilted Brooklyn man admitted yesterday that he snapped and killed her mother and tiny dog in a stabbing frenzy.
Pierre Carrenard, 36, took the stand to try and convince jurors that he was under extreme emotional disturbance when he murdered Esperance Labidou in her basement of her Flatlands apartment on Aug. 9, 2005.

Carrenard said he believed Labidou poisoned her daughter, Francois MacDaly, against him, though he insisted he was carrying a large knife for protection from other members of her family.

"I snapped," he testified. "I just went out of control."

On cross-examination, prosecutor Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi said that as Carrenard stabbed Labidou more than 25 times, the family's Pekinese, Foo Foo, tried fiercely to protect its mortally wounded owner by "barking and gnawing at" the assailant's leg.

"You stabbed ... a little dog, maybe not even 10 pounds, a dog you never liked?" Nicolazzi said.

"I never had no problem with the dog," Carrenard insisted.

Carrenard, whose mother is a voodoo priestess, also explained that a bizarre shrine found in his apartment - consisting of MacDaly's panties and his sock tied together with a green vine - "was sort of a spell to control her spirit."

MacDaly also testified that her sicko ex-boyfriend used her slain mother's cell phone to deliver a taunting message to her just minutes after the bloody deed.

"Your mother's dead. I killed her. Who has the last laugh now?" she said Carrenard told her.
