The reward fund for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the hanging, strangulation, and death of a dog off Constellation Road in the Calamity Jane Wash in early Aug is growing.

The original amount pledged by resident and local businessman Tom Riggs was $500. Since then, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has pledged $1,000, and various individuals have pledged up to $600 more.

One Wickenburg woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, pledged $500, while five of her friends pledged $20 each. Her friends are located in areas such as Chandler, Tucson, Wyoming, Maine and Washington State.

The Wickenburg woman said she was pledging the money because she wants someone with knowledge of the crime to turn in the person responsible.

Yavapai County Sheriff's Office Deputy Regina Juarez said she has not yet had any breaks in the case, but is continuing her investigation.

Juarez, like the anonymous donor in Wickenburg, is still hoping that someone will come forward with information regarding the strangulation death. Juarez can be contacted at 928-771-3206 (ask for badge No. 387).
