Pawtucket, RI (US)

Incident Date: Monday, Aug 1, 2005
County: Providence

Disposition: Open

Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

Pawtucket police are looking for a man who they said threw three kittens to the ground and then crushed one with his car. A witness told police that a bearded man got out of his car near McCoy Stadium on the morning of Aug 1 and threw three kittens to the ground one at a time. Two of the cats ran away.

But police said the third kitten was killed after it ran beneath the man's car. The man then drove away, crushing the cat.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the man's arrest.

One of the kittens has been found and is now at a shelter. But a second kitten remains on the loose.
