Timothy Jerome Jackson, 37, of 130 T.J. Lane in Minden, was arrested around noon on Aug 2 after authorities conducted a raid at his residence. He was charged with dog fighting and training and possession of dogs for fighting.

According to Webster Parish Sheriff Gary Sexton, the arrest was a result of a joint investigation by his department, the Louisiana State Police, Probation and Parole and the Webster District Attorneys Office.

Just before noon on Aug 2, authorities converged at the home of Jackson where they confiscated walkers used in the training of fighting dogs, fighting pens and nine Pit Bulldogs.

"The sad part about this is, the dogs will have to be put down," said Sexton. "They look like normal, everyday pet bulldogs, but they are trained to fight and kill and you never know how they might react to different situations."

Sexton said Jacksons arrest follows several weeks of investigation.

Jackson is being held at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center. His bond has been set at $2,500, however he will not be about to bond out due to a probation/parole hold.
