County: FairfieldDisposition: Alleged
Alleged: Elizabeth Kamar
A Norwalk woman was arrested after she allegedly left three dogs in her car with the windows closed in Bridgeport during hot weather. Elizabeth Kamar, 43, of East Avenue, was charged with three counts of cruelty to animals.
Police said Kamar was arrested after a bystander saw the dogs in a 2004 Subaru Forester at 10:30 p.m. in the Showcase Cinemas parking lot on Canfield Avenue.
The dogs had been in the car for more than 45 minutes, and its windows had fogged up from their panting, police said.
After Kamar refused to sign a court summons, she was held in lieu of $5,000 bond for an appearance in Bridgeport Superior Court.
