Hen locked in hot car Clackamas, OR (US)Incident Date: Tuesday, Jul 19, 2005 County: Clackamas
Disposition: Alleged
Abuser names unreleased
An anonymous tip brought a livestock deputy to the Clackamas Village Place Apartments on Scottstree Way, where she found a hen locked inside a pickup truck parked in the sun with the windows up.
A locksmith was eventually called to open the door, and they found the animal inside with no water.
Motor vehicle records failed to lead the deputy to the truck's owner, who could face animal neglect charges. The hen was taken to protective custody.
The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office reminded the public that animals should not be left in hot cars without air circulation and fresh water. References« OR State Animal Cruelty Map
